Thank you for your support as we strive to enhance Village residents’ quality of life, the value of their homes, and their sense of place. For visvisitors, we maintain a unique experience of the first planned suburban community in the US. The Olmsted Society of Riverside is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Frederick Law Olmsted in Riverside, Illinois. The Olmsted Society’s efforts of stewardship, education and community engagement include:
- Partnering with the Village in leading volunteer efforts in landscape maintenance and restoration
- Donating landscape plant materials and workday supplies to the Village
- Sponsoring educational presentations and walking tours
- Hosting Hop Stop, an annual family-friendly community beer festival
- Sponsoring the Vintage Baseball Game, baseball played with historic rules, uniforms and equipment
- Advocating for policies that preserve the unique landmark character of the community
