Baltis Built – 1955
This home was designed by architect Anton Johnson and built by Baltis Homes, Inc., but predates the razing of the Babson mansion and the creation of the Fortunate Forty sub-division. It has a tri-level design and was built for the Vesecky Family who owned the Troy Department stores. It still has some of the original features of the home that are quite amazing since they are fifty years old. With its distinguished, unique, very contemporary design including Prairie influences it is a beautiful example of mid century architecture. This lot was owned by Edith Rockefeller McCormick before Babson bought it.
