Spring Cleaning
On Saturday, May 14th, it took four dump truck loads of mulch to finish off sprucing up Big Ball Park, part of the Longcommon in Riverside. We were joined by a new volunteer, a bird, who stayed with us all morning. Eight volunteers endured a windy and cold (40 degrees!) day to weed then mulch the area. It sure looks great! Join us for the next Olmsted Society landscape workday on Saturday, June 25th at Scottswood Common.
More than two dozen volunteers came out for the Olmsted Society landscape workday on Saturday, April 30th. It was a beautiful sunny morning & we all enjoyed spreading mulch on the beds around the Big Ball Park . We finished and it looks wonderful!
On the first great day of spring we had about 32 volunteers from Hauser Jr. High School , 12 boy scout volunteers and six additional volunteers from Triton Jr. College help us put down several truck loads of mulch in the Big Ball Park on The Longcommon. The kids worked very fast and efficiently, putting the mulch down just as fast as Michael Collins, the forester could bring it. Thanks to everyone for helping make Riverside sparkle.
