The Arcade Building, one of three initial structures in Frederick Law Olmsted’s General Plan of Riverside, has undergone many changes since its construction. Margaret S. Guzek, writer and preservationist, will trace its evolution and discuss why the Arcade was so vital to Riverside in the community’s early years, and its national significance as a forerunner to the modern shopping center.
