Landscape Workday: September 17, 2022

A perfect day to plant 5 flats of native sedges & grasses along the banks of the DesPlaines River in Indian Gardens (near the Scout cabin). We had 9 adults & a teen install the plants in the area that we cleared during the Aug 27th workday. Look at the results!

Volunteers planted another 5 flats along the river in Indian Gardens at the “top” of the bank. Despite using metal staples to keep the plants in place, some of the plugs installed the week before were disturbed (probably by animals) & we were able to reinstall those, as well. This is just the beginning of restoring Indian Gardens. Expect planned workdays here for the next decade.
